Leah Lipsich is responsible for Non-Clinical Developmental Sciences at UCB, a global function that encompasses aspects of pre-Proof-of-Concept CMC development and Non-Clinical Development.
Leah previously managed the CMC department and discovery/development interface departments within Purdue Pharma. Prior to Purdue Pharma, she managed the biologics development group and became a director of the pharmaceutics department encompassing both NCE and NBE development at Boehringer Ingelheim. She previously worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb where she transitioned from discovery research into drug development and established a new biologics development group. She started her industry career at the biotechnology company, Ingene, where she studied bone morphogenesis.
Leah received a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Cincinnati in Biological Sciences and went on to study Cellular and Molecular Biology at SUNY, (State University of New York) Stony Brook, where she received her PhD. Her postdoctoral training was at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories and SUNY (Stony Brook) where she was involved in the research of tyrosine specific kinases and viral and cellular oncogenes.
